Harm Reduction
Harm reduction saves lives! By centering harm reduction principles, and ensuring resources are available in our community, we can better support individuals experiencing opioid use disorder and substance use disorder (OUD/SUD). These resources help us reach a crucial goal - reducing overdose-related deaths in Southwest Washington.
Harm reduction is crucial because it “incorporates a spectrum of strategies that includes safer use, managed use, abstinence, meeting people who use drugs “where they’re at,” and addressing conditions of use along with the use itself.”
