SWACH receives funding from the Clark County Opioid Abatement Council

CHI

Vancouver, Wash. - Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health (SWACH) has been awarded funding from the Clark County Opioid Abatement Council to further support harm reduction efforts and awareness. SWACH received more than $50,000 to support our network of Narcan (naloxone) vending machines, provide medical and harm reduction supplies, and implement a youth prevention training, among other things, in Clark County.

The funding aligns with SWACH’s regional efforts to address opioid use disorder and substance use disorder (OUD/SUD). In November 2022, SWACH launched a naloxone vending machine network to ensure that the lifesaving medication was readily available across Clark, Klickitat, and Skamania counties.

"We're incredibly grateful for the critical funding awarded by the Clark County Opioid Abatement Council. This investment strengthens SWACH's regional efforts to combat opioid use disorder and substance use disorder (OUD/SUD),” said SWACH Executive Director Nichole Peppers. “Since November 2022, our network of naloxone vending machines has made significant strides in increasing access to this lifesaving medication across Clark County. This new funding allows us to expand these efforts, providing not only Narcan and medical supplies, but also vital youth prevention training."
