SWACH Debuts New Mission

Over the past year, Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health (SWACH) has seen a tremendous amount of growth and change take place. In a short time frame, we have launched a new program (Community Health Improvement), started implementing the Medicaid Transformation Project (MTP) 2.0 waiver, expanded our capacity with new staff positions and roles, and relocated to a new office building in downtown Vancouver. With so much recent updates to our organization, it was time to reassess our mission statement to ensure it reflects our commitment to the community and partners, and the work we do.

Our New Mission Statement

We are dedicated to the pursuit of health equity, driven by a constant commitment to uplift the communities of Clark, Klickitat and Skamania counties and Tribal and Native communities through partnership and innovation to address barriers to wellbeing.

We champion sustainable initiatives that promote health and wellness for all.

Our revised mission statement not only reflects where we are now as an organization but also the direction we are headed over the next several years.

Accompanying the new mission statement, SWACH has also debuted new organizational priorities to help center our work:

Priority 1
Work alongside and in support of local communities to increase positive community outcomes.

Priority 2
Create equitable systems change, driven by community-identified needs.

Priority 3
Leverage our financial stability and operational excellence to support community partners and members.

SWACH’s Communications department worked closely with program staff and the Board of Trustees to craft these new messages. The goal was to develop a mission and priorities that reflected the values and motivators people bring to their work at SWACH.

“At the end of the day, we wanted to develop a mission statement that was easy for staff and board members to connect to,” said Ryan Carrillo, SWACH Senior Communications Manager. “We hope that our team members can see their work and their own values reflected in this new vision for our organization.”
