November Kudos for CBWs

Each month, we recognize the remarkable work being done by our local community-based workforce. These submissions come from fellow CBWs, supervisors, and other individuals who have worked closely with our network. Read our November kudos below.

Captain Dohman - Kudos to Captain Dohman from CCFR! Although he will be transitioning out of the CARES program, his energy and care for the clients as well as the program have been outstanding!

Megan - You are a rockstar and are always doing the most! Even if you have multiple things going on at once, you still put your clients first and have had great success. Thank you for all you do!

Johanna - Kudos for being amazing and for advocating the fullest with your clients. You have handled some tough situations and have done well with drawing boundaries while still serving them to the best of your ability. Thank you for all you do!

Maddie - Kudos to Maddie at CCFR! She goes above and beyond working with folks on everything from installing smoke detectors, and moving rugs, to linking them to needed resources!!!

Jeannette - You had to deal with another client tragedy. I know how difficult that is and I'm proud of how you're taking care of yourself. Proud of you.

Johanna - Kudos to you for pushing through a difficult situation and drawing boundaries when needed. Well done!

Megan - Many shout-outs to you for continuing to work two jobs simultaneously and being such a fierce advocate for the Resident Action Program and for maintaining your caseload without a hitch. Amazing work.

Daisy - Our new Pathways Intern! Shout out to you for hanging in there with us for the last couple of weeks. I can't wait to see you begin your work with clients. Thanks for all you do!

Kelli Keyes - Someone whom I believe deserves recognition is Kelli Keyes. She introduced me and my coworker, Maggie, to Sea Mar and what this job as a CHW entails, and has done a great job at being a supportive coworker. She goes above and beyond for the clients that she works with by investing her time in them and assisting where she can. Kelli is a kind soul who really cares for her community and cares for the team that she has helped bring into this work. Kelli took her time to show me and our other new coworker Maggie the ropes of how things get done and the efficient way to get them done while being kind and courteous of the situations that our clients could be in. She was always willing to take on a question; when she didn’t have an answer, she could use her resources and give us a solid answer when asked. Thank you, Kelli!

Gabe Heredia - For helping and answering questions in a timely manner. Helping my care coordinators with anything that they need.

Outsiders’ Inn Team -

  • Crystal Drake, St Paul's Shelter

  • Jennifer Klein, St Paul's Shelter

Steven Suarez - Recovery Navigator Steven Suarez is an up-and-coming star on the Recovery Navigator team. He meets people where they are on their recovery journey. He empowers the individuals that he meets, he hears them speak their stories and finds the resources and avenues of healing that are fine-tuned to best support their needs. Thank you Steven for all you do for our recovery community.

Paula - Paula is the laughter and joy that feeds us the fuel to keep us rejuvenated and avoid burnout. She inspires us to "keep on Keepin’ On" She reminds us not to get "stuck in the muck" or take ourselves too seriously. Paula makes work... fun!

Paula is also the softest soul, each person that she encounters feels, heard and valued. She puts a twinkle of light in the eyes of the broken. She advocates for the individual person, she builds trusting relationships that allow others to grow into healthy adults that make better choices and become successful people.

Margret Rose - A co-worker that I believe deserves recognition for her hard work is Margret (Maggie) Rose at Sea Mar Fourth Plain Medical center. She has gone above and beyond in an attempt to work with a specific client on helping him get a simple form from his mortgage agency. She has worked hard for over a month and spent hours on the phone working with this client to get him assistance. She has not given up or backed down in her work with him and she is a great asset to our community. Shout out to Maggie!
