HealthConnect Updates for February

As part of the February HealthConnect Bulletin, we wanted to provide important updates about the hub.

  • Thus far in 2023, we have received 231 CareConnect WA referrals, and have connected 160 of those households to needed services, representing approximately 640 individuals.

  • HealthConnect Advisory Council's third meeting was held on 2/16/23. The primary goal of the Advisory Council is to provide feedback in support of the operations of the HealthConnect Hub and the programs. During last week’s meeting, Advisory Council voted and confirmed its Chair and Vice-Chair positions. Congratulations to the Council’s new Chair, Dr. Adriana Linares, and Vice-Chair, Heather Sheppard.

  • During the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), the Health Care Authority (HCA) extended coverage for all Apple Health (Medicaid) clients. This extension ends March 31, 2023, due to the Consolidated Appropriation Act 2023. Health Care Authority (HCA) will notify everyone currently receiving benefits of this change. They will send mail notifications and are looking at options also to send text message notifications. Initial messaging will urge people to update their contact information so they’re notified in time. Link: Apple Health and the public health emergency | Washington State Health Care Authority
