SWACH Participates in Housing Town Hall

On Wednesday, October 18, Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health (SWACH) participated in an advocacy town hall with Washington Low Income Housing Alliance and Resident Action Project. The event included:

  • Advocacy 101 presentation

  • Town hall with Representative Monica Stonier and Councilmember & Mayor Pro Tem Ty Stober

  • Q & A with community members

We had a wonderful turnout with some amazing conversations and great food. Best of all, we spent time in community with one another, stoking the fire for policy change.

The event happened in partnership with SWACH’s Equity and Collaborative Impact department, which is hard at work to develop and implement advocacy and policy initiatives.

    Washington Low Income  Housing Alliance signup for Action Alerts We advocate for housing justice year-round with the help of advocates across the state, taking important actions like emailing their lawmakers, signing letters, posting on social media, and participating in many other organizing.

  • Join  RAP
    RAP is a program of Washington Low Income Housing Alliance, a statewide network of people who have lived experience with housing injustice and are fighting for everyone to live in a safe, affordable home. Our members include people who live in affordable housing, have experienced homelessness, housing injustice, or are struggling to keep up with housing costs. Members also include direct services and resident services staff of nonprofits that provide affordable housing.

  • RAP Special Training
    Ready to learn more about how you can use the Housing Justice Narrative to advance homes for all?  Join a special RAP training on Wednesday, December 13 from 5:00-6:30pm.  The training will go deeper into the research, strategy and the Housing Narrative Toolkit, with opportunities to practice and work on our story telling.  The training will prepare you to deliver powerful testimony, increase your impact with the media, and to recruit more people to the Housing Justice movement. Registration is requested.
