The Health Care Apprenticeship Consortium (HCAC)

The Health Care Apprenticeship Consortium (HCAC) offers exciting healthcare apprentice opportunities! This includes Medical Assistant (MA), Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), and Central Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT) apprenticeships. These programs address existing workforce shortages and combine technical instruction with hands-on learning, such as the Medical Assistant apprenticeship at PeaceHealth. New cohorts for the CSCT and CPhT apprenticeships are scheduled for January 2023: please contact us at apprenticeship@healthcareerfund.org to learn how your organization can get involved.

HCAC also operates programs that specifically target individuals in or looking for entry-level healthcare positions, such as the Introduction to Healthcare Employment & Apprenticeship Program (IHAP). IHAP is a convenient two-part program that trains entry-level job seekers for healthcare careers followed by Nursing Assistant Certification training. Current Environmental Services Technicians are eligible for the Advanced Certification for EVS Technicians (ACET), a three-part training program that combines interactive online learning with onsite training and assessment. Both offer opportunities to gain new skills and deepen candidates’ understanding of healthcare careers.
