  • Historical Trauma: Understand the effects of historical trauma on marginalized populations and how it shapes behaviors and health outcomes.

  • The Nervous System: Learn how trauma impacts the nervous system and explore regulation techniques to foster safety and emotional stability.

  • Practical Strategies: Discover actionable techniques for working with individuals experiencing emotional dysregulation while maintaining safety and building trust.

About the Trainers:

  • Tori Lopez, LCSW: With over 25 years of experience across various systems, Tori specializes in culturally responsive, trauma-informed training. A bi-racial, gender-nonconforming professional, Tori brings a collaborative learning style that engages participants in meaningful discussions and activities.

  • Genie Gomez, MSW, LSSW: First-generation Mexican-American, Genie has over 15 years of experience working with marginalized youth and families. Her expertise includes trauma-informed care, community engagement, and empowerment workshops, all delivered through an inclusive and compassionate lens.
