A New Cadence to Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions/Pain Programs

February 4, 2021

There aren’t many benefits to the isolation and lack of social gathering we’ve all experienced during these COVID times, but this is surely one of them:   The Stanford-developed programs Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Pain and Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions have been adapted to virtual workshops. This means that more people can take advantage of the life-changing programs, as the trained facilitators will be teaching via Zoom.

The Living a Health life with Chronic Pain and Living a Healthy Live with Chronic Conditions virtual workshops are offered in partnership with Washington State University Extension Clark County, Southwest Washington Accountable Communities of Health, and DSHS Aging and Long-term Support Administration.  More information about both of these workshops can be found at:  https://www.selfmanagementresource.com/programs/

People who’ve participated in the programs say they are better able to manage:

  • Heart disease
  • Arthritis
  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • Asthma, Bronchitis and Emphysema
  • Mental Health and other conditions

Participants also report:

  • Less Pain
  • More Energy and Vitality
  • Greater Independence
  • Improved Mental Health
  • Better Quality of Life

Even better, 2021 brings a new cadence to the partnership between SWACH and WSU, as well, with several sessions starting soon.

Do you know someone who’s living with a chronic condition or chronic pain?
